DEDICATED SERVANT FOR YOU
AND THE NATIONAL CHURCH!

Over 20 YEARS
AS A MEMBER OF THE PRESIDIUM, CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, INC.

First elected in 1984, Bishop Brooks is now serving in his sixth term as a Member of the General Board, the Presidium of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. Among his many "first's", Bishop Brooks is the first member of the presidium ever to be promoted to higher episcopal office twice in the same year (a seven month period).

Following the demise of Presiding Bishop G.E. Patterson, and Bishop Charles E. Blake's subsequent ascension to the Office of Presiding Bishop, on April 11, 2007, Bishop Blake appointed Bishop P.A. Brooks to the Office of Second Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, Inc.

Seven months later, on November 13, 2007, after the General Assembly of the Church re-affirmed Bishop Blake as Presiding Bishop of the denomination by way of a special election, he placed in nomination, the name of Bishop Phillip Aquilla Brooks, to the Episcopal Office of First Assistant Presiding Bishop, and the Civil Office of First Vice President of the Church of God in Christ, Inc., and the General Assembly of the Church did elect him to the office as prescribed by our Constitution.
